Lightware and Google enhance meeting room flexibility with New Taurus UCX integration for Google Meet
Lightware is helping to elevate the Google Meet experience with the introduction of an integration with Taurus UCX.
We are helping to elevate the Google Meet experience with the introduction of an integration with Taurus UCX. This advancement brings full compatibility between Google Meet environments and Lightware’s Taurus UCX-4x2 and UCX-4x3 products, delivering unified Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) functionality. This partnership between Lightware and Google enables organizations to create meeting spaces that are more flexible, streamlined, and effortless for users.
Our collaboration with Google marks a major step forward in simplifying hybrid meeting experiences. With the Taurus UCX, organizations can now enjoy seamless transitions between Google Meet and BYOD sessions without additional setup.
said Gergely Vida, CEO of Lightware.

The Taurus UCX connects to the Google Chromebox via a simple, reliable and secure USB link. When the room is not in an active call, any connected laptop can use the room’s display, camera, and peripherals, enabling BYOD mode for easy collaboration.
During an active Google Meet call, the Chromebox maintains control of all peripherals to ensure the consistent and dependable meeting performance users expect from Google Workspace. The Taurus UCX is also recognized as a certified device in the Google Admin Console, making management and configuration straightforward for administrators.
Currently, the Taurus UCX-4x2-HC40, UCX-4x2-HC40D, UCX-4x3-HC40, and UCX-4x3-HC40BD are compatible with Google Meet with additional support for HC60 variants set to be available by the end of Q1 2026.
Traditional Google Meet room kits are designed to provide a consistent and reliable meeting experience. As collaboration needs continue to evolve, many organizations are looking for additional flexibility, such as easy switching between devices and quick content sharing to accommodate diverse workflows.
With the new Taurus UCX integration, BYOD capabilities become even more responsive. With Native BYOD mode, users can connect their laptops via USB-C for reliable content sharing and charging without interrupting Google Meet sessions. The system features automatic operation mode switching, with the Taurus continuously monitoring call state to ensure smooth transitions between BYOD and Google Meet modes.
Multiple source management is also supported, allowing multiple laptops to connect via USB-C for quick switching and collaboration. Because the Taurus connects to Google Meet hardware via USB, it requires no additional network connection, simplifying installation. When it comes to administration, the Taurus UCX can be managed and monitored through Google Admin Console, allowing all devices to be supervised in one place.
The solution is perfectly suited for corporate and enterprise environments that use Google Workspace, as well as small to medium-sized meeting rooms which require greater BYOD flexibility. Additionally, system integrators can benefit from its certified Google Meet compatibility, ensuring reliable performance and easy deployment.
Designed with long-term reliability in mind and ongoing support from both Lightware and Google, the integration ensures continuous updates, compatibility and dependable performance, making it a future-proof option for modern meeting spaces. Lightware will be showcasing the Google Meet integration at ISE 2026. Attendees will enjoy live demonstrations highlighting the compatibility between Google Meet environments and Lightware’s Tarurus UCX models.
